About extraction: from the local to the interplanetary
Free admission upon registration
The meeting proposes a reflection on the relationship between resource extraction, territory, and architecture. This is done by considering the continuity of local, regional, global, and interplanetary domains, and a close correlation between the different scales of the project. On one hand, the extension of extractive methods opens up new scenarios and productive geographies, while on the other hand, it looks at the replacement of primary landscapes in progressively mechanized territories in support of urban life. Furthermore, a growing interest in supply chains—and their security, especially in light of recent political events—and material processing is increasingly present within the architectural debate, promoting circular economy strategies.
