Context Specific
A MASBEDO's Open Portrait
Free admission upon registration
As part of the Public Program of Portrait of the City—a MASBEDO project curated by Cloe Piccoli—we present the first appointment dedicated to the concept of "context specific": method, attitude and vision of MASBEDO's artistic practice. The public program reflects the multidisciplinary nature of the homonymous project, explored through four conversations that integrate art, architecture, radio and music. The program represents an extension of the reenactment realized by MASBEDO of "Portrait of the City" (1954) by Berio, Maderna, and Leydi, which contributed to the creation of the Studio di Fonologia at the RAI studios in Milan: a pioneering example of interdisciplinarity and experimentation at the core of MASBEDO's project. Context Specific. The Open Portrait of MASBEDO explores the work as a catalyst for reflection which, starting from the permeable nature of the project leads to considering the potential of context-specific artistic and curatorial practices capable of generating ideas in harmony and reciprocal exchange with the multiplicity of reference contexts.
Speakers include: Carlo Antonelli, journalist and art director; Damiano Gullì, curator for Contemporary Art and Public program of Triennale Milano; MASBEDO, artists; Cloe Piccoli, art critic and curator; Alberto Saibene, historian of 20th century Italian culture; Alberto Salvadori, director and founder of Fondazione ICA Milano.
