FOG (live A/V)
Grand River – Marco Ciceri
Running time 110’
In collaboration with Radio Raheem
Radio Raheem—media and cultural platform and Triennale Milano’s resident radio—has always been one of FOG’s most influential musical forces. In this sixth edition of the festival, Radio Raheem presents the audio-visual performance created by Italian-Dutch sound designer Grand River with media artist Marco Ciceri.
Electronic music meets minimalist images to guide an exploration of unknown landscapes free from the boundaries of rationality, to reveal what is hidden beyond the curtain of fog. This unique live event is introduced by the experimental sound ambient devised especially by the duo 2AM, composed of Adele Altro and Marco Monaci.
Aimée Portioli is a Dutch-Italian composer and sound designer based in Berlin. She performs as Grand River. She produces experimental electronic music with a cinematic twist. Her work, influenced by minimalism and ambient music, is atmospheric and rhythmically complex, incorporating a wide range of contemporary techniques. His first release as Grand River is Crescente EP, named by XLR8R as one of the best releases of 2017. Next comes the debut album Pineapple (Spazio Disponibile, 2018). Aimée Portioli has also created original sound art installations for La Galleria Nazionale in Rome and Il Pianeta in Milan. She has performed at major venues and international festivals.
Marco Ciceri is an Italian media artist based in Berlin. He studied at the Faculty of Design and Arts at the Free University of Bolzano. In 2014 he collaborated with London-based studio Marshmallow Laser Feast on an installation commissioned by the Lisbon Architecture Biennale. In 2015 he moved to Berlin to join the motion graphics studio Pfadfinderei, working on live shows for artists such as Moderat or Paul Kalkbrenner. He has also participated in creating visual installations and performances for festivals and site-specific projects. In his works Marco Ciceri mixes different media and techniques to achieve a richness of detail and a fluid aesthetic.
