Ilhann Ersahin’s Istanbul Sessions

October 31 2024, 10.00pm

Ilhan Ersahin’s Istanbul Session is one of the most interesting contamination projects in the contemporary musical panorama. It was founded by saxophonist Ilhan Ersahin, and has the goal of exploring Turkish sonorities from Ilhan’s childhood mixing them with jazz music, typical of his mature production and formation. Frontman Ilhan Ersahin is one of those rare moguls of the New York City underground scene via his club and record label, Nublu, spread his New York energy throughout the world. Since 2008 the band has set fire to stages all across the world: from New York to Istanbul, from Paris to Sao Paolo, from London to Skopje. Istanbul Sessions can aptly be described as cinematic: a place where master-level musicianship meets high eclecticism, finding new sense and power.
