Enrico Rava "Fearless Five"

November 10 2024, 8.00pm

Fearless Five is Enrico Rava's new project, a "fearless" quintet made up of a new generation of musicians, bringing together young and creative energies with the band leader's enormous experience. Enrico Rava is undoubtedly the best known and most internationally appreciated Italian jazz musician. Always engaged in the most diverse, creative and stimulating experiences, he appeared on the scene in the mid-1960s, quickly establishing himself as one of the most convincing soloists in European jazz. Fundamental to his success were also his experiences in America, where he lived for several years (taking part in many important groups and recording experiences alongside Gato Barbieri, Steve Lacy, Carla Bley, Cecil Taylor, Archie Shepp, Lee Konitz, Pat Metheny, John Scofield, Michel Petrucciani and many others) and then toured the world. His human and artistic outspokenness sets him apart from the mainstream and makes him a rigorous musician, yet heedless of convention.
