3 annonciations

Pascal Rambert

Italian Premiere
The show includes total darkness in the hall

A tryptic of oracles that reimagine the Angel Gabriel’s annunciation to the Virgin Mary, 3 annonciations rethinks what the announcement of a new beginning could look like in today’s world. Transcending the Biblical trope, Pascal Rambert interrogates the relevance of the annunciation in nthe contemporary context, where a sense of looming tragedy casts a shadow on the joy of the angel’s visit. What could we announce in our time? An ecological disaster? The end of the world? A reversed history? Masterfully performed in French, Italian and Spanish by Audrey Bonnet, Silvia Costa and Bárbara Lennie, each speaking in their mother tongue, the three poetic and intimate monologues stage and multiply the mystery and powerful resonance of a prophecy received by the audience in the listening state of the Virgin.
