Rival Consoles
London-based producer Rival Consoles, an influential figure in the international electronic scene, is coming to Triennale. His music, characterized by a balance of experimentation and emotional depth, captivates with his ability to create highly atmospheric and expressive electronic music by “humanizing” electronic sounds and synthesizers. On stage is an A/V performance that combines music and visuals in an unprecedented sonic narrative. From the deepest atmospheres of ambient to his unique vision of techno, Rival Consoles presents unreleased material and a live reinterpretation of his most iconic works.
Rival Consoles, stage name of Ryan Lee West, after a 15-year career that led him to explore increasingly polymorphous and conceptual sonic territories, in 2022 released the album Now Is on Erased Tapes, a work that marks a new phase in his musical evolution. With a unique fusion of synthesizers and acoustic instruments, the record has been unanimously acclaimed for its playful and melodic approach by all music critics: “Impossible to ignore, and hard to forget,” comments Pitchfork, while Clash says that “Rival Consoles makes a conscious attempt to push back against everyday bleakness.”
