SOSPESI is the first film to offer a passionate, ensemble view of the world of contemporary Italian circus: its poetics, its practices and its protagonists. A journey across the country, from North to South, among artists who have transformed the circus into a language of the present, capable of speaking to society with artistic, political and cultural force. The film is produced by Cordata F.O.R., in co-production with Flash Future, with the support of MiC – Ministry of Culture and Film Commission Torino Piemonte, in collaboration with Quattrox4 and with the contribution of Play Juggling. Directed by Luca Quaia and Francesco Sgrò, SOSPESI gives voice to over thirty protagonists of the field, prominent figures of the Italian art scene who have distinguished themselves on the European scene.

Luca Quaia is an author, director, and photographer. A finalist at the Fantasio Festival, he works between theatre and contemporary dance. In 2025, he is the author and director of the documentary SOSPESI, produced by Cordata F.O.R. and Flash Future, with the support of the Italian Ministry of Culture and the Film Commission Torino Piemonte.

Francesco Sgrò is an author, director and choreographer active in contemporary circus, dance, and performance art.
