Spirit Exit Live

Caterina Barbieri

SOLD OUT

Running time 60’

On a timeline that blurs the boundary between yesterday and today, some of the greatest female figures of the past inspire post-human sounds and experimental melodies: a mystical music made of synthesizers and voices that pushes towards the discovery of our inner world. Caterina Barbieri – an artist with an international background who explores the psycho-physical effects of sound between ecstasy and temporal hallucinations – presents her latest album Spirit Exit. Finding inspiration in the suggestions of St.Teresa of Avila, Rosi Braidotti, Emily Dickinson and other women of visionary strength, capable of opening cosmic glimpses into their own interiority, Caterina Barbieri's tracks cross the threshold of an otherworldly dimension in a state of constant ascension.

Caterina Barbieri is an Italian composer and musician currently based in Milano. Her work explores the psycho-physical effects of repetition and pattern-based operations in music, by investigating the polyphonic and polyrhythmic potential of sequencers to draw complex geometries in time and space. Her work has been extensively presented in festivals and venues across the world such as Barbican Centre, Berghain and Venice Biennale. Caterina Barbieri has collaborated with a variety of artists and has signed her first movie soundtrack for Pascual Sisto’s John and the Hole selected at Cannes 2020 and Sundance 2021 as well as scored fashion shows by Fendi, Gucci, Calvin Klein and Off-White.
