Are we not drawn onward to new erA
Ontroerend Goed
Running time 70’
Italian Premiere
An award-winning theatrical masterpiece, merging visual art, theatre, poetry and politics, Are we not drawn onward to new erA is the new work of the Belgian performance group Ontroerend Goed, hailed by critics as one of the most stimulating theatre makers of the past decade. The myth of progress versus the threat of the end of the world; like its title, the work is a palindrome: it reads the same backwards as forwards. Whether our collective actions move us towards destruction or salvation, are they irreversible or can we undo them? This intelligent, charming and emotionally impactful work – in Italian premiere – is a metaphor of the threat we are posing to ourselves and our world.
