David Foster Wallace was an American writer, essayist and academic americano. He was born in Ithaca in the State of New York in 1962 and died of suicide in 2008. He was the author of cult novels, such as The Broom of the System, Infinite Jest (which Time magazine included among the 100 best English-language novels written between 1923 and 2006), and The Pale King, which remained unfinished. He also wrote several short stories, e.g. Girl with Curious Hair, Oblivion and Brief Interviews with Hideous Men. Wallace didn’t write for the theatre, even though his texts – and especially his monologues – are masterfully written. 

Daniel Veronese is an actor, dramaturg and director, born in Buenos Aires in 1955. He is a master of Argentinian theatre and leading artist across Latin America. He has directed more than 70 theatre pieces and has written over 60 texts, including Mujeres soñaron caballos, Los Corderos, La noche devora a sus hijos. His works have been translated and staged in South America, Europe and all over the world. In Italy, he presented his version of Hedda Gabler at Festival di Santarcangelo in 2010; in 2012 he staged two adaptations of Chekhov’s plays at Napoli Teatro Festival Italia: Los hijos se han dormido based on The Seagull and Espía a una mujer que se mata based on Uncle Vanya.
