Choreography of the Hands and Shadow
Alicja Wysocka
Admission with ticket for the International Exhibition Inequalities
Duration: 30 minutes
A guided somatic experience and participatory performance within Una breve vacanza exhibition, Polish Pavilion at the 24th Triennale Milano International Exhibition. This intimate performance by Alicja Wysocka invites participants to explore rest as a collective act and care as a subtle choreography. Over the course of thirty minutes, the audience is guided through a sensory experience that unfolds with eyes covered, following the artist’s voice and gestures. Through touch, body positioning, shadow, and proximity, participants engage in a collective somatic practice – a “choreography of the hands” mirrored between artist and audience. Their shadows are traced in charcoal on the wall, leaving behind a temporary record of shared presence and quiet connection.
Alicja Wysocka is a visual artist whose practice explores alternative economic models, commons, and collaborative, community-based forms of coexistence. Her work proposes imaginative frameworks for collective living and shared prosperity. Through a multidisciplinary approach, she crafts projects that often function as collective therapeutic experiences.
