Le sacre du printemps

Dewey Dell

PREMIERE

Running time 50’
For the April 16 show, there will be a tactile visit dedicated to the stage elements of Le sacre du printemps (at 2.15 pm, running time: 45'). The visit – open to all – is designed for people with visual impairments. To book: access@triennale.org

In every metamorphosis of the human being, death is always by the side of life. Merging dance and performing arts, Dewey Dell's choreographic research is inspired by images from art history and the behaviors of the animal kingdom. Composed of Teodora Castellucci, Agata Castellucci, Vito Matera and Demetrio Castellucci, the company encounters Igor Stravinskij's Le sacre du printemps, a milestone of musical literature and endless visual source. The mystery of spring and the violent coming of life take place on stage, in a conflict between sound and vision, between the powerful seduction of music and the furious energy of bodies. An astonishing new work by one of the most original companies on the contemporary scene.

Dewey Dell is a dance and performing arts company active since 2006 and composed of Teodora Castellucci, Agata Castellucci, Vito Matera, and musician Demetrio Castellucci. Dewey Dell has produced the following works: à elle vide (2007), KIN KEEN KING (2008), Baldassarre (2008), Cinquanta Urlanti Quaranta Ruggenti Sessanta Stridenti (2009), Grave (2011), Marzo (2013), Trasmissione Verticale (2016), Sleep Technique – A Response to the Cave Chauvet Pont d’Arc (2017), Deriva Traversa (2017), the diptych I Am Within & I Am Without (2018), and Hamlet (2021). The company's works have been presented in some of the most relevant international contexts, including Arts House and Melbourne Festival in Australia, Rencontres Chorégraphiques and Palais de Tokyo in Paris, Wesleyan University and Macalester College in the U.S., Mime Festival at the Barbican in London, and A l'Arme Festival in Berlin.
