Eutopia

Trickster-p

SOLD OUT

Italian Premiere

Eutopia stems from the desire to explore a different paradigm of “doing together” through a playful and multisensory approach. Marrying performance, installation and game design, the Swiss research duo Trickster-p questions old biological, ecological and anthropological models to transform the theatre into a big game board. Audience members are invited to a participatory experience the outcomes of which – always different – are the result of their own individual inputs. Collective action becomes the tool through which possible worlds are drawn, which centre around stories and visions where human and non-human entities are entangled to create a complex geography of multispecies landscapes in constant becoming.

Born out of the meeting between Cristina Galbiati ansd Ilija Luginbühl, Trickster-p is a research project operating in a liminal zone across different artistic languages. After a first phase centred around the physicality of the performer, over the years Trickster-p has moved away from the canonical idea of theatre to investigate transversal expressive modalities, which, both conceptually and formally, are generated by the intersection of heterogeneous artistic approaches. The duo’s poetic vision invites the audience to engage perceptively and create their own reality in a border zone between interior and exterior vision. Their most significant works include performances and installations translated in several languages and presented in more than thirty countries across Europe, Asia, Australia and the Americas. Beside artistic works, the project has also led to the creation of “La casa del tabacco”, a space for creative work and experimentation in Novazzano. In 2017 the project was awarded the prestigious Swiss Theatre Prize; the duo is currently resident at LAC in Lugano.
