Irpin, Ukraine: Past, Present and Future
Destroyed but Not Conquered

Irpin, a city located near Kiev, 76 percent destroyed due to the Russian military invasion and active hostilities in the community, has been designated as a heroic city. Reconstruction of the city requires a layered vision and tools capable of intervening at different scales, responding to particular urgencies and needs, facilitating dialogue between different actors involved, from the municipality to stakeholders, intersecting the Master Plan with local projects. The case of Irpin is compared with other Italian and Ukrainian experiences. The exhibition evokes the past, present and future of the city in an immersive experience that recalls the tragedy but also the desire for hope and rebirth that the citizens of the Ukrainian city are demonstrating.
