Meet the artist: Stefania Tansini and Dewey Dell

A dialogue on the experience of performance in exhibition spaces and museums, along with the authors of the shows L’ombelico dei limbi by Stefania Tansini, at the PAC Padiglione d’Arte Contemporanea, and Deriva Traversa by the company Dewey Dell, at the GAM Galleria d'Arte Moderna in Milan, both part of the programming of FOG 2024. The talk will be moderated by Damiano Gullì, curator for Contemporary Art and Public Program at Triennale Milano.
Stefania Tansini is a dancer and choreographer, graduated from the Accademia Paolo Grassi in Milan. She has worked with Romeo Castellucci, Cindy Van Acker, Simona Bertozzi, Luca Veggetti, Enzo Cosimi, Ariella Vidach, Motus, and embarked on a research path on the body which she carries out through choreographic and performative projects. She is the winner of the 2022 UBU Award in the category "best performer under 35".
Dewey Dell is a dance and performing arts company that has been active since 2006, currently composed of Teodora Castellucci, Agata Castellucci, Vito Matera, and musician Demetrio Castellucci. Their choreographic exploration is consistently inspired by images from art history and behaviors in the animal kingdom, progressively approaching anthropological themes in recent years. Dewey Dell has produced the following works: à elle vide (2007), KIN KEEN KING (2008), Baldassarre (2008), Cinquanta Urlanti Quaranta Ruggenti Sessanta Stridenti (2009), Grave(2011), Marzo (2013), Trasmissione Verticale (2016), Sleep Technique – A Response to the Cave Chauvet Pont d’Arc (2017), Deriva Traversa (2017), the diptych I Am Within & I Am Without(2018), Hamlet (2021), and I'll do, I'll do, I'll do (2022). These works have been presented globally at many venues such as Arts House and the Melbourne Festival in Australia, Palais de Tokyo in Paris, Biennale Danza in Venice, Triennale Milano and the Mime Festival at the Barbican in London.
