This series of ceramics by Luca Staccioli (Imperia, 1988) takes its inspiration from the constant transformation of the landscape and from how living beings adapt to it. The ticket dispenser in a queue management kit is subjected to a transformation process, passing from an ordinary object of everyday use into the matrix of a living body. These new organisms, with their totemic shapes and antirealist colors and tones, are inspired by prickly pears not only in their shape, but also in their ability to generate natural groups to protect themselves and multiply. Removing the object-matrix from its original function, the artist opens the door to new poetic possibilities of metamorphosis, narration and rebirth. The work was selected with our institutional partner, Lavazza, as part of a pathway towards promoting and developing the new Italian artistic scene.
