NO RAMA

Annamaria Ajmone

Running time 50’

NO RAMA is an open space – earthly, multi-dimensional, not too far and not impossible, it receives frequent incursions from an elsewhere that is equally future, present and underground, between science and fiction. Its ecosystem can adapt to global warming, to the Earth’s desertification and to progressive ocean acidification. It is a place inhabited by animal, mineral and biotechnological species. In the space created by the choreographer Annamaria Ajmone, organic and inorganic elements meet and coexist; bodies acquire new shapes and powers, while they share secret tales. Time dilates, generating a widespread, viscous and self-sufficient system, where each element is connected to the others and space is in constant flux.

Annamaria Ajmone is a dancer and choreographer. At the core of her research is the body intended as a malleable and changeable material, capable of transforming spaces into places creating parallelisms and temporal overlaps. For her productions she works with collaborators with whom she shares the creative process, thus involving different images and visions. She has presented her work in several dance, theatre and performance festivals, museums, art galleries and hybrid spaces. She collaborates with other artists on interdisciplinary projects, including Canedicoda, Palm Wine, Muta Imago, Jacopo Miliani, Felicity Mangan, Industria Indipendente, Bienoise, Francesco Cavaliere. As a dancer, she has performed for Alias Compagnie, Ariella Vidach, Daniele Ninarello, Santasangre, Cristina Kristal Rizzo, Mithkal Alzghair, Moritz Ostruschnjak. In 2015 she was awarded the Danza&Danza prize for best emerging performer. For Matera, European Capital of Culture 2019, she signed the choreography for Abitare l’opera, Prologo tra i Sassi / La Cavalleria Rusticana, directed by Giorgio Barberio Corsetti. With Sara Leghissa she organizes Nobody's Indiscipline, a platform for the exchange of artistic practices.
