Pas de deux
C.G.J. Collettivo Giulio e Jari
Running time 40’
Wrapped in darkness, two dancers maneuver their bodies according to trajectories that are now free and gentle, now decisive and fragmented, reinterpreting the theme of the pas de deux, a scenic system that throughout the history of ballet has always highlighted the profound value of bonding and relationship. The pas de deux is revisited as a chance to release emotional states through intentions, dynamics and spatial interlocking.
Winner of the DNAppunti coreografici 2021 competition, Giulio Petrucci and Jari Boldrini's performance explores a journey of visual landscapes through the body, drawing on timeless imagery to convey new forms of virtuosity and recreate narrative utopias.
Jari Boldrini (1989) and Giulio Petrucci (1990) collaborated individually with various Italian and foreign international institutions and collected common experiences with authors like Fabrizio Favale, Cristina K. Rizzo, Virgilio Sieni and Stefano Questorio. In 2018 they founded C.G.J. Collettivo Giulio e Jari, a project of research and creations of performative formats that is interested in observing the multiple aspects hidden in the everyday life of every culture. With the project Evento, they are selected to the Vetrina Anticorpi XL 2020, Anghiari Dance Hub 2020, and in the same year they win the Danza&Danza Award as emerging performers. Thanks to ResiDanceXL 21 they began their second project, Pas de deux, which would later gain production support by winning DNAppunti coreografici 2021.
