How can design be told without going through theory or technical language? Storie fantastiche per oggetti reali, published by Lazy Dog, chooses a novel path: that of imaginative storytelling, inspired by the form of the fairy tale. The volume stems from the desire to restore the design universe of the Castiglioni brothers-especially Achille and Pier Giacomo-through short stories designed for adults with the curious gaze of childhood. Each designed object thus becomes the protagonist of a story, in which invention, irony and reality are surprisingly intertwined. Achille Castiglioni loved to observe “anonymous” everyday objects, capturing their latent potential and transforming them, through a process of research and reinterpretation, into iconic designs. The narratives contained in the book reflect this approach, returning emotions, insights and thoughts that dwell behind each form. The stories are accompanied by illustrations, comics, and photographs, and close with a data sheet that brings the object back to its concrete dimension. A journey that starts from the imagination to get to the heart of the project.
