During Milan Arch Week 2025, we present a lecture by Emil Grip, co-founder of Limbo Accra, entitled Architectures in Limbo.

This lecture by Emil Grip, co-Founder of Limbo Accra, explores the concept of “limbo” as both a cultural metaphor and an architectural condition. Drawing on literature, beginning with Dante’s Divine Comedy, art and contemporary practice, it reframes unfinished or abandoned buildings not as failures, but as spaces of possibility. Through recent projects, and the founding of the newly minted institution, Limbo Museum, the talk considers how paused architecture can open up new frameworks for art, design, and spatial practice, inviting a reassessment of how we imagine and engage with the future of the built environment.
