Fare Polvere. primo incontro is a performance put together by Swiss dancer and choreographer Yasmine Hugonnet and sound artist and percussionist Enrico Malatesta. In this work, the two artists question the distinction between dance and music, sound and body, exploring the creative possibilities that can arise from these two elements listening to each other. Thus, between presence and absence, an invisible and vital movement is generated that disrupts the order of space and recomposes it with surprising results.
Enrico Malatesta, born in Cesena in 1985, is a percussionist and independent researcher working in experimental fields including music, performance, and territorial investigation. He explores the relationship between sound, space, and movement, and the vitality of materials with a focus on surfaces, ways of listening, and the definition of multiple pieces of information through an ecological and sustainable approach to the percussion instrument. He has presented his work in Italy, Europe, North America, Brazil, Japan, and South Korea, participating in major contemporary music and performing arts festivals.
Born in Montreux, Switzerland in 1979, Yasmine Hugonnet is a choreographer, dancer, and researcher. Her work probes the relationships between form, image, and sensation, and explores the deconstruction of choreographic language through processes of embodiment and appropriation. In 2013, she established the Arts Mouvementés company in Lausanne. She develops a choreographic language focused on the relationship between posture, attention, and imagination, and the practice of ventriloquism. She presents her work at major international festivals. She is currently an artist-in-residence in Palermo at Palazzo Butera thanks to the Swiss Institute.
