Frequencies of gesture
Andrea Giomi, Martina Zena
Premiere
FOG offers space to young choreographers with these works created specifically for the festival in collaboration with Ariella Vidach - AiEP. Frequencies of gesture is an interactive performance-installation by Andrea Giomi and Martina Zena which investigates the relationship between gestures, sounds and signs, and the way in which movement can be rematerialized in the form of sound and visual traces. By making different techniques interact – in this case live drawing and chalcography, motion analysis and interactive sonification, data visualization and artificial intelligence – this work questions the way in which the knowledge which is located in the gesture can be externalized through the device and re-incorporated in a new material form.
