Voices on Masbedo’s Ritratto di Città 20/20.000Hz
Free admission from 10.30 am to 6 pm
The eight-channel audio installation uses most of the interviews conducted for the video project Ritratto di Città 20/20,000 Hz (2024) by Masbedo (Iacopo Bedogni and Nicolò Massazza). Curated by Carlo Antonelli and Cloe Piccoli, Voices on Masbedo's Ritratto di Città 20/20,000Hz is part of the reenactment process of Ritratto di città (1954) by Luciano Berio, Bruno Maderna, and Roberto Leydi, with the aim of continuing that special synergy of actions that, starting from the RAI Phonology Studio in the 1950s, continues to resonate to this day. The work reactivates that powerful short circuit between radio and the city, a meeting place between avant-garde research and public service, thus constructing a possible representation of contemporary Milan: a new portrait. Guests include Kit McIntosh, Nicolas Becker (Oscar winner for the soundtrack of Sound of Metal, 2019), Delia Casadei, Manuel Orazi, Nadeesha Uyangoda, and Walter Siti.
