The world seen from Brussels
Atlas of the Changing World
Free admission
When history speeds up, geography returns as a vital tool for deepening our understanding.
We are living in an era marked by rapid change—transformations that are reshaping the world, our nations, and our cities at an unexpected pace. This is why we feel the need to present a series of maps that illustrate the growing number of conflicts and reveal how the United States, Russia, China, and Europe interpret the present in very different ways.
Maps—ancient tools that remain relevant today—also allow us to explore major issues of our time: inequality, gender differences, migration flows, and climate change. These are phenomena that introduce new kinds of risk and challenge what we think we know, compelling us to learn.
Exploring surprising realities helps break down taboos and prejudices, opens up new spaces for knowledge, and creates opportunity. But to do so, we need the most essential engine of every era: the free will to dare.
