Mirror/Mirror

In a bleak, passionless post-lockdown world, the emerging voices of Mirror/Mirror depict seven urban architectural projects, questioning testing the 'use - misuse - disuse - reuse - refuse' dilemmas to question the ultimate possibilities, roles, and limits of contemporary architecture and urbanism.

Organized as a construct consisting of suspended multimedia planes and reflective surfaces, an array of large-format LCD screens, the project compresses the existing exhibition enveloping the visitors in an immersive barrage of images, sounds, and reflections. The screens are linked to create oversized, high-resolution architectural tableaus, forming an oversaturated and vibrant communicative interface. The reduced size of the construct is offset by the intensity of engagement with the content, and the illegibility of totality is compensated by the heightened clarity and size of the details.

The installation gathers seven projects from young Croatian architects that have been awarded during the 56th Zagreb Salon of architecture and urbanism. Its spaces are in fact a site-specific rethinking of the original designs.
